Volunteer with Us

You can volunteer at Fountain Hills Unified School District and make a difference to a child’s education in many ways. You can donate your time as a site volunteer, chaperone, community volunteer, volunteer coach, or a mentor with the Golden Eagle Education Foundation.

Site Volunteers

Site volunteers always work under the direct supervision of our professional staff at the school site. Site volunteers only work with those teachers who have requested the services of a volunteer. We ask site volunteers to review the guidelines, procedures, and responsibilities in our volunteer handbook. Site volunteers must complete our online background check.

Site volunteer opportunities:

  • Classroom instructional volunteer
  • Classroom assistance volunteer
  • Clerical assistance
  • Health office assistant
  • Library/media center volunteer
  • Lunch duty

Who can apply to be a site volunteer?

A site volunteer is a parent, stepparent, legal guardian, or grandparent who has a student at the school where he/she wishes to volunteer. If you wish to volunteer at the district-level rather than at a school, please contact our human resources department at (480) 664.5017.

How do you apply to be a site volunteer?

If you would like to apply to be a site volunteer, please fill out our volunteer application and submit the application to the site or department you would like to volunteer for. This will help to establish what opportunity best fits your skill set. We also ask that you submit an online background check.

School Chaperones, Community Volunteers, & Volunteer Coaches

School chaperones perform an invaluable service. They provide safety for students attending events and on field trips. Any individual such as a parent, step-parent, legal guardian, grandparent, or relative is eligible to be a school chaperone. Chaperones must agree to an online background check.

Who are our chaperones, community volunteers, and volunteer coaches?

  • Chaperone: parent, guardian, or grandparent of a student who is volunteering at student’s school and will be alone with students on local or overnight field trip.
  • Community volunteer: person who does not have a student or grandchild at school they are volunteering at.
  • Volunteer coach: person who will volunteer with athletics whether or not he/she has a student or grandchild at the school they help at.

How do I apply to be a chaperone, community volunteer, or volunteer coach?

If you would like to be a chaperone, community volunteer, or volunteer coach, we ask that you fill out our volunteer application and submit the application to the site or department you are most interested in supporting. We also ask that you complete our online background check.
